FR. Michael G. HodgesFr. Hodges is a lifelong resident and seventh generation resident of Carson City, Michigan. I am the first-born son of Gene and Kay Hodges. I have three siblings; Michell, Patrick, and Pamela. Graduating from Carson City-Crystal High School in 1987, I attended Montcalm Community College and Central Michigan University, earning a Bachelor of Arts (1992) and Master of Arts (1997) in History and Political Science.
I taught U.S. and Modern World History at both the high school and junior college levels from 1995 until my entry into seminary in 2006. After nearly twenty years of discernment I formally entered the pre-theology program at Mundelein Seminary in Illinois as a seminarian for the Diocese of Grand Rapids. In the first half of 2010 I served as seminary intern at St. Jude parish in Grand Rapids under the supervision of Fr. Tom Page. Continuing my studies at Mundelein I was ordained to the transitional diaconate by Bishop Walter Hurley on June 4, 2011. The following year I achieved the Master of Divinity degree and was ordained, along with Fr. Darrel Kempf, to the priesthood on October 27, 2012. Since the time of my ordination I have served as Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Consolation parish in Rockford under the guidance of Fr. Tony Russo. |
